What is ISDN?

Like dialup, ISDN phone lines are used to connect you to the Internet. However, because an ISDN phone line allows the transfer of digital instead of analog signals, the transfer is about 5 times faster than a traditional modem. ISDN is a good choice if the super-fast connection of broadband is unavailable in your area, but you need more speed than you can get from dialup.
